Public Policy Concentration

The concentration courses in Public Policy allow students to acquire skills and competencies in policy making, implementation, analysis, and social change. The concentration helps students identify and develop the requisite skills to engage in, shape and administer public governance in addition to applying research design and methodology to public policy issues. Students completing the concentration will enrich their undergraduate experience with a set of career enhancing skills that will help them be more effective leaders and impactful in a for-profit, nonprofit, or government agency. 

Concentration Details:

  • Requires 15 QH for completion
  • 15 QH of coursework must be taken at NLU
  • Requires a minimum grade of “C” for each course in the concentration

Note: The same courses may not be used to satisfy the concentration and program major requirements.

Note: Students completing the undergraduate courses with a Public Policy concentration are eligible to have these courses applied to degree requirements both in their current undergraduate program and, upon meeting eligibility criteria and acceptance, to the specifically designed NLU graduate program. This concentration serves as an advanced pathway to the Master of Public Administration (M.P.A.) program with a concentration in Public Policy. Students should contact their Academic Advisor for details as certain rules apply.
